Can i put a cyanogenmod on hp slate 7

Like Banhien said, you can'put iOS on the Slate7 series, but rooting (hacking) the device is up to you.  You will have to root your tablet to install a CyanogenMod ROM.

Rooting will result in voiding your warranty with HP, so tread carefully.

Elitepad 900 Camera Flash

Hi,

How can I get the camera flash to work?

I've performed a system restore on my elitepad and have noticed that the bundled software has gone missing.

I've checked the HP downloads section for my product and can't find anything there.

Thanks!

poor data transfer facility

Your post isn't clear about what you're attempting to do, so I'm reading between the lines, to guess that you'd like a simple, wired-USB connection between your desltop PC and your Omni 10 tablet. Since they're both "host" devices, they won't be able to "talk" to each other without some additional technology — typically referred to as a "USB Transfer Cable" —  often found on sale for less-than $20. (Since  H-P is sponsoring this forum, it would be impolite for me to tell you which competing tablet manufacturer currently has 2 such devices currently on sale...). In addition, you will need an adapter to convert the micro-USB port on your tablet to a full-size female connector. (Imo, the best style is a short flexible cable with appropriate M/F connectors on either end; many of these adapters have a 90° elbow on the micro end, which could conflict with either of the adjacent ports on your tablet; look for an adapter that has a straight connector on the micro end, and avoid a one-piece, rigid plastic adapter which makes the tablet's USB port more-susceptible to damage thru accidental bumps and tugs.)

Also, since you referred to a "mini USB hub" in connection with your goal of transferring data, I suspect you may not appreciate the roles of a USB hub in connecting USB devices to a "host" computer; think of a USB Hub as a funnel, which can channel data flow to/from multiple USB devices into a single port on a host computer. Another important consideration when connecting USB devices to a tablet, is most tablets can only supply a tiny amount of power to any attached device, so 'most any device besides a USB stick will need some source of power other than from the tablet — either from its own AC adapter, or thru connecting to a "powered" USB Hub. In many instances, a powered hub may be required when connecting even a single device, like a portable hard drive, scanner, DVD player, some smartphones, etc. — any one of which might require more power than your Omni 10 is capable of supplying.

I hope that I correctly understood what you're attempting to accomplish, and that I've provided enough details to help you get there...

Good luck!

Re: HP Slate 21 ADB Driver

Got it.

Delete Slate 21 from devices and let it rescan, that caused it to show up in Other Devices which enabled the Update driver option that I needed

Computer Management -> Device Manager -> Portable Devices -> Slate 21

After installing drive ran below commands and the device now shows up in Eclipse -> DDMS view -> Devices

android update adb

adb kill-server
adb start-server

poor data transfer facility

I have an Omni 10. It would seem PCworld and others have not got a clue of how to sell the product correctly. Like many I am new to the world of tablets. So I thought with a mini usb it could be used for not only charging but transfer of music from my HP desktop etc via a cable now I find out this is not possible.  My connection speed at home is 0.5meg! So using a cloud facility is a waste of time.  I would like to tether my smart phone as well when travelling in the car but the help on the tablet is just jargon to me.  So far apart from using as a mobile laptop for surfing I would give this tablet 3 out of ten. Can anyone help especially with the tethering. I have a all inclusive package on my smart phone so tehering is not a problem. Or perhaps  help me regarding 3G set up without tehering.

HP Photosmart 7520 - Paper Tray Selection from surface tablet

Hi mro55, welcome to the HP Forums. If you are using Windows RT, it uses built in printer drivers. When you print, try to find printer options, or printer preferences when printing, you want to view the paper/quality section to see if you get the option for tray selection there. I have read in one case that the user was given the option to install the photo tray when the error popped up that the tray was not installed.

Omni 10 Bitlocker key location?

Thanks for the help, I was able to get the sfc running in safe mode and found that this:

..

Cannot repair member file [l:34{17}]"I386\CNBJ2530.DPB" of prncacla.inf, Version = 6.3.9600.16384

..

Could someone be so kind as to upload this file somewhere (Windows 8.1 32bit) where I might be able to download it?  Please run an sfc yourself first to make sure your file is OK.

Yes, you need a keyboard connected to enter the bitlocker code and then in safemode itself.  I didn't have a mouse connected but I manged with using some of the keyboard shortcuts.

available hard drive space- can this be correct?????

HI folks- first time here. I'm not that tech savvy but am OK with stuff. Have just bought hp-pavilion-x2-11-h003sa ( 2 in 1 tablet/laptop), Windows 8 (first time!). Spec is 64gb SSD hard drive and after loading up Office (say 3-4gb) and about 4gb of data machine says only 4gb available space. I know about recovery drives etc and that windows uses space to operate but can this be correct? I've out on about 7gb and therefeo only had about 12 gb available? Any suggestions?

How to recover Omni 10

Hello,

How can you recover the omni 10 tablet? Recover meaning, reinstall windows 8.1 that is on the micro sd card that came with the tablet.

By powering on the omni 10 and immeadiatly pressing the Vol - , I get to the menu  where it has options to enter the BIOS and an option "System Recovery" although by pressing that, nothing happens.

The microSD card in windows is recognized fine, so it in there.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Scanner

Hi,

I am using HP Elite pad 900 windows 8 (now upgraded to 8.1) tablet and have also purchased the retail jacket with barcode scanner integrated to it. I have changed the mode of scanner from HID USB Keyboard mode to USB COM Mode.

Now in control panel, my device is being detected as scanner but under the "Unspecified Device" category.

The demo sample code code provided by Microsoft for barcode scanner in Windows 8.1 metro app is not able to detect the scanner as a device neither I am able to detect the scanner through my own metro app code.

My guess is that the scanner should be detected as scanner device bot as unspecified device. Please provide any solution.

Regards,

Amit

Microsoft Surface RT with HP Officejet L7480

Hi qt12705, welcome to the HP Forums. Windows RT printing support is done with native drivers. There are no traditional downloads for this. I am not certain if this model is supported in RT. The easiest way to see if it will work is to plug it in with a USB cable, to see if it recognizes it and allows for USB printing. If it does, then you can add it as a network printer using the 'Add Printer' method via Printer And Hardware in the control panel.

You can find the details under the "Windows RT" section of this document:  Install the Printer Software in Windows RT or Windows 8 on a Tablet

I hope this helps.

Re: My brand new HP Slatebook cannot boot.

password

User/name Password,

  Hello,

I am unable to log into one of my  bank accounts on line on my lap top ( HP pavilion g7). I have two accounts with two different banks. one bank is fine no problem. the other will not let me in.

I have spoken to the bank (with the problem) and they say all OK at their end, and confirmed this by  logging in to the same bank(with the problem ) on my desk top computer and its fine no problem .

I have checked the u/s name is correct, and changed the password, but still no joy!  Have cleared all bank details from lap top and started again but  still same problem.

Any ideas would be helpful

Regards Timsman.

Also I ran the HP support assistant installing additional drivers (Intel) and Bios.

But still I find an unknown device in the hardware manager of windows.

Does anyone know how I can solve this?

Revolve 810 ( Gen1 ) and Windows 8.1

Hello,

I recently upgrade my elitebook Revolve 810 ( Gen1 ) to Windows 8.1. Because the power fan keeps blowing almost continously I also upgraded to the latest bios ( f47 ). Now I no longer have the tablet functionalities on the device. This means that ( when screen is rotated in tablet style ) the on screen keyboard no longer appears and the screen no longer rotates.

As seen on thread : http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-HP-ProBook-EliteBook/HP-Revolve-810-G1-Windows-8-1-Screen-Auto...

Any update on this ? Are new drivers or new bios version available ?

Omni 10 Recovery

Hi Norskman, welcome to the HP Forums. There are other ways around having to get into Windows to restore the computer. Since you can't enter the password, you will obviously have to use one of these other methods.

The easiest way is if you have already made recovery media. Creating and Using a Microsoft Recovery USB Drive (Windows 8)

The other option is detailed under the section "Reset your computer when Windows will not open" of this document:  Recovering Software on Your HP Tablet (Windows 8)

The final option, is to order recovery media: Order software and driver media

Let me know if this helps.

printer driver for surface RT

Hi bluefrogger19, welcome to the HP Forums. Unfortunately Windows RT does not allow for non-RT drivers to be installed. Any printer functionality is already built into Windows RT. If it doesn't work, it will not work.

You can refer to the Windows RT section of this document: Install the Printer Software in Windows RT or Windows 8 on a Tablet
